GREAT BASIN UNIFIED AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT Position Announcement Field Services Technician I - Keeler Salary Range $4,396-$5,343 per month (DOQ) + benefits Great Basin is seeking a highly motivated individual for the full-time position of Field Services Technician (FST) I. Under general supervision, the incumbent will assist in the collection of information on the location, frequency, duration, and severity of dust storms from the Owens and Mono Lakes and identify dust sources using scientific methods and instrumentation, as well as other duties as required. This is the entry and training level class of the FST series. The incumbent will learn how to operate and maintain all scientific field instrumentation and air monitoring instruments, as well as assist other Technical and Air Monitoring staff in the design, construction, installation, and operation of air monitoring and scientific instrumentation throughout the District. The position requires knowledge of safe work practices, basic principles and theory of scientific fieldwork, and use of instrumentation to obtain defensible data. Qualifications: four years of experience in the operation and maintenance of scientific or mechanical instrumentation, machinery, or equipment; or completion of two years of college with major coursework in electronics, and/or a Bachelor's degree in an environmental science or electronics; or a combination of training/education/experience to gain the desired knowledge and abilities.
